Activists who fight for women’s rights were detained in Saudi Arabia. They were accused of attempts to undermine the security and stability of the kingdom. Among the activists there were five men and two women. The police incriminated them suspicious contacts with foreign agents. However, people believe this is the way the authorities fight with real reformers.

One of the detained stood against conservative policy of the prince. She was arrested several times. She was an author of the petition for cancelling the law on ‘tutelage’. Women in Saudi Arabia can not go abroad, get marriage and get a passport without a trustee (father, brother, husband or son). More than 14 000 people supported the petition.
