In 2018 Volyn locals should beware of Rabies virus, Tick-borne encephalitis virus, and Lyme disease.  The symptoms are fever, headache, problems with muscles and joints. 90 Volyn locals suffered from Lyme disease for the last three years. The viruses are spread by ticks.

Besides, during the last three days it is recorded the highest level of Rabies virus among animals – 171 cases in the region.

Last year most cases affected foxes, however, domestic animals such as cats and dogs are usual victims of the Rabies.

If an affected animal bites you, the doctors advise to wash the wound with the soap and go to the hospital.
