350 000 hryvnias per year – this is the amount of money Manevychi forestry earns on conifer extract and essential oil. They are produced from waste of conifers and sold in drug stores. Manevychi forestry is the only enterprise in Ukraine that deals with production of such kind.

For the last years, their main problem has been bark beetles. The insects damaged almost 8% of the general forest fund.

The only way to fight with is to cut down ‘injured’ trees. However, it is also possible to make money on it – for example to export them to Poland and Austria.

Apart from logging, they deal with juice, berries and mushrooms conservation. Last year the company earned almost two million hryvnias on it.

Besides, this year they set greenhouses on the territory of the enterprise to grow fruits and vegetable for the company’s canteen, as there are 400 employees in the forestry. The general income of the company last year was 124 million UAN.
