This January the number of parents who want to vaccinate their children have increased in two or even three times. Every day about 200 kids are immunized in the local hospital. The reason of such a rush is a measles outbreak.

Previous years a lot of parents ignored vaccinations but this year there are more than 40 cases of the infection recorded.

Inna Arsienko, a nurse, says: ‘There were fewer cases in December, about 50 vaccinations per morning. Now we do hundred in the morning, and hundred in the afternoon. So many children are immunized these days.’

Such queues create inconveniences both for doctors and parents. The medicine is bought by state money, parents do not have to pay. According to the doctors, the vaccines are of high quality and they are Belgian.

In general, starting from October, in Volyn laboratory center more than 49 cases of measles were reported. 70% of the ill are children and most of them were not vaccinated.
