The president of the US welcomed three Americans of Korean origin released from NK. Two of them were detained in the territory of NK in 2017 for ‘hostile acts’. Another one was detained for spying in 2015. All of them were in labour camps.

The White House named the release – an act of good will and a signal of Kim Jong-un’s strivings to improve the diplomatic situation before the meeting with Trump.

According to the information of Human rights committee in NK, around 120 000 people may be imprisoned there for today. Imprisoned, without investigation or court decision. The last released from the prison was a 23 y.o. student Otto Warmbier, who was arrested for stealing a poster form the hotel. He returned to the US but after that died. The circumstances are unknown.
