Lutsk locals went to the court of appeal to protest against the decision to change the sentence to the Lutsk businessman, Vladimir Migas, who, drunk driving, hit Vladyslav Andrushkiv. The incident happened in 2016 in Dubnivska street. The businessman was driving very fast and hit the boy at the pedestrian crossing. The man was detained. The police found a bottle of cognac in the car.

He was sentenced to four years of imprisonment. However, on 29 April the court changed the decision. He was released on trial basis in case he does not commit crime during three years.

People demanded the judges to explain their actions. The causer of the accident and the father of the boy made an agreement concerning the case and Migas had to fund the boy’s rehabilitation and treatment. According to primarily information the sum was two million hryvnias.

People widely condemned the court’s decision demanding justice for all the drunk drivers who kill and injure people of all ages and remain unpunished.
