The main task of mass media is to enforce public control of authorities and law enforcements to make sure the attackers on the journalists are punished.

For example, the head of national journalists’ community mentioned Poland, where journalists do not face with the problems of persecution and physical violence, because the perpetrators are punishable by law. They receive years of imprisonment. Such position of Polish government shows high respect of mass media.

In Ukraine the situation is completely different – the killer of Vitaliy Veremiy, a famous journalist, is still free despite the fact the murder was four years ago.
